Date (and time):
24 January 2010 (20:00 - 23:00)
Ronnie Scott's is London's leading jazz bar and a worldwide name. It's stage has hosted pretty much every big name in the jazz world and some from outside it over the years. And after it's revamp a few years ago it's now bigger and better than ever. But it's not cheap. Tickets for standard nights can start from £20 so it's worth looking for some of the more obscure events being hosted.
And Tap Jam is certainly a new one. Every fourth Sunday of the month the best in the tap world and join with the legends of the jazz world and make... well quite a bit of noise. Described by The Times as containing dancers who "make the hair on your arms stand up", this isn't the place to show off your nursery school tap classes. The speed and rhythm of the performers make it clear why it can take so long to learn. But if you think you're up to their standards feel free to take your shoes along and have a go. The rest of us can just watch. Ronnie Scotts, 47 Frith Street, W1. 8pm, £6
