Gibson Dunn employee charged with stealing £38k from her firm

An employee at the London office of Gibson Dunn & Crutcher has been charged with stealing over £38,000 from the US firm.

Marion Carrington is accused of obtaining the money by submitting fake overtime claims and falsified petty cash receipts over a whopping six year period. She stands accused of bagging £10,754 in unearned overtime between 2004 and 2007, The Lawyer reports, and she is alleged to have upped her game considerably over the next three years by submitting phony timesheets totalling £22,911 between 2007 and 2010.

Carrington also faces two charges of committing fraud by false representation for allegedly stealing £5,404 of petty cash. She made bail and will appear at the Old Bailey on February 14th. Gibson Dunn - presumably busy tightening up their overtime claiming procedures - did not respond to RollOnFriday's request for comment.
