More LPC exam mayhem

Students at BPP Law School have complained after the start of an exam was delayed for two and half hours.

The students on the LPC course in London had assembled at the Emirates Stadium last Saturday to sit their Solicitor Accounts paper. At 2pm they were told that due to an "administrative error" they were 80 papers short, and that the exam would be delayed as a result.

Students claim that invigilators seemed totally out of their depth, and their attempts to pacify students by claiming the exam was about to start had worn thin by the time it eventually kicked off at 4:30pm. One insider says that students were "noticeably stressed at having to hang around for two and a half hours and some were ill".

This cock-up comes only two weeks after the one armed monkeys at the College of Law handed out incorrect materials in an exam, so LPC providers aleady have some unfortunate form in this regard. BPP charges a whopping £12,500 for the course, which was developed with Freshfields, Herbert Smith, Lovells, Norton Rose and Slaughter and May - none of which will be happy with such a shambles.

Peter Crisp, chief exec of BPP Law School, said "we are treating this matter as an extremely serious issue, and one of the utmost importance. An immediate investigation took place...[and]...we have now fully reviewed the procedures that led to this unfortunate incident, and have written to each of the students affected with a full apology and explanation. Action has been taken to ensure that this does not happen again."
